Gary Vaynerchuck is probably the most well know influence out there. He just released his sixth book Crushing It: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence—and How You Can, Too recently and I read this on his blog.

I’m obsessed with the idea of finding ways to tell a story that grab your attention the moment you take out your phone and scroll through various social platforms. That’s the game we’re playing. That’s what you have to focus your energy on.

I’m not going to lie. I do the same thing difference is I’m terrible at implementing those thoughts into action. I’m getting better at it. I’m writing this post aren’t I?

Here’s the thing. The game really is about storytelling and that’s what I love. So, these are my few thoughts on how you can tell better stories online.

Use what they give you

I learned this from experience and then it was just crystallized in my mind after reading Gary’s his second book.

Don’t just post. Think about what may enrich that post.

  • Add a GIF.
  • Go LIVE if there is cool things to show and discuss.
  • Record video in bits and pieces and let the great machine learning tools edit video together to share. More on this soon.
  • Add multiple pictures in context (Instagram)
  • But most importantly don’t sacrifice on your core values for clicks

That’s what I have for now. Let me know which one you’d like to know more about.
