This page explains what this website collects, why, and who else touches that information. I wrote it in plain language. If something here is unclear, send me a message or email danny@rubio.tv.
Who I am
This is the personal website of Danny Rubio (Daniel Rubio), at rubio.tv. I also run Swift Peak Productions, which has its own website at swiftpeakproductions.com with its own practices. Nothing on this page covers that site.
What I collect, and why
The contact form. If you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address and message you type, plus your confirmation that you agree to my storing them. I use them only to reply to you. The message is emailed to me and a copy is kept in this site's control panel so it is not lost. I keep it for as long as it takes to answer and follow up, and I delete it when it is no longer needed.
The newsletter. If you join the list, I collect your first name and email address. They are sent to Kit, the service I use to send newsletters, where you are added to my list and tagged with the site you signed up on (Rubio TV or Swift Peak) so I know where you came from. A copy of the signup is also kept in this site's control panel. I use your details only to send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask me to remove you at any time.
Nothing else about you. This site has no accounts, no comments and no advertising. It does not currently use analytics or tracking tools. If that changes, I will update this page first.
Cookies and saved settings
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site's forms safe and working (a session cookie and a security token). They are not used to track you.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser (local storage) so the site remembers it. It stays on your device and is never sent to me.
This site loads its own fonts and images from its own server, not from third-party font or image services.
Embedded content from other websites
Some posts embed content from other services, such as podcast players, social posts, GIFs or videos. When you view a post with an embed, that service may set its own cookies and collect information about you, as if you had visited their website. I do not control that. Their privacy policies apply.
Who I share your information with
Only the services needed to run the site: Kit (newsletter), the email service that delivers messages from the contact form, and the company that hosts this website. Like most hosts, it keeps basic server logs (such as IP address and the pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for advertising.
How long I keep it
Contact messages: until I have answered and followed up, then I delete them. Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you. Server logs: kept by the host for a short period under its own rules.
Your choices
You can ask me what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any email. To ask about anything else, contact me or write to danny@rubio.tv. If you live somewhere with privacy laws that give you more rights, such as the EU, the UK or California, I will honor them.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this page
If I change how the site handles your information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
